In Honour of Grandmothers
Café Ninety7, at 97 Main Street
On the weekend when our thoughts turn to our mothers of all kinds, join Kim Kilpatrick and I as we tell stories of our grandmothers – the incredible women who first brought us the gift of stories. Here about the missing rabbits and the duck pond, and of these pivotal relationships which shaped the women we became.

Stories and Tea: In Honour of Grandmothers
Together with storyteller Kim Kilpatrick. Kim and I both bear striking resemblances to our grandmothers, and we both inherited a love of stories from them as well. Join us as we revisit the stories that made us fall in love with stories, and the women who brought them to life for us.
Mrs. Yazdani captivates the audience with her storytelling. She becomes the characters in her stories, drawing in listeners with her soft voice, transporting them to the story’s location as if by magic carpet. Listeners are left with the impression that they have met the characters personally. Students and staff are mesmerized as Mrs. Yazdani allows them to journey through time with her stories.

Sherri is an awesome storyteller! She has you in the palm of her hand from the first word. Her use of voice, gestures, and expression is thoroughly engaging. You feel like you are right there in the story!

It was absolutely the BEST story-telling I have ever heard! I think having the 2 story-tellers [Sherri Yazdani and Kim Kilpatrick] made it exceptional, and of course the topic was wonderful.

What a wonderful night–my son and I were 100% taken in by the storytelling. After the event, he said, “That was really good!” which is a big deal from a boy who says relatively little whenever we go anywhere. I thought your selection of stories, and the way they related to each other, was just great. Our family had some bad news during the week and I was considering not attending the performance, but I’m so glad that I did. Thank you for a terrific evening!
